Thank you for choosing Hello Baby Studios

Thank you for choosing me as your photographer! I’m thrilled about your upcoming session and can’t wait to capture these special moments. I understand planning a session can feel overwhelming, so my goal is to make the entire process seamless and stress-free. Below, you’ll find helpful details to guide you in planning and styling your session.

What to expect before your session

  • Once you’ve reserved your session, you’ll receive a session portal that has a few questionnaires that you’ll need to fill out. This is all done digitally.

  • For Maternity, Baby & Family Sessions, we’ll schedule your session date together.

  • For Newborn Sessions, your due-date will be placed on my calendar and then once baby arrives, please reach out within 48 hours to let me know baby has arrived and I will share some available dates with you for your actual session. If you’re planning to be induced or have a c-section we can schedule ahead of time since you’ll know when you are planning to deliver.

  • Sessions are typically held on weekdays, with Newborn Sessions starting at 9:30 AM and Maternity & Baby Sessions beginning between 9:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Limited weekend sessions are available upon request and include a $100 weekend fee.

Tips to prepare for your session

    • Family is always welcome to join your session, though some moms prefer to focus solely on themselves and opt not to include family members.

    • Most moms select 1-3 outfits, such as a family look, a solo ensemble, and a more intimate option like a lace piece, sweater, or bralette.

    • For a polished look, consider painting your nails and toenails in a natural, light tone.

    • Don’t forget to bring undergarments in white, cream, or light nude to ensure everything looks seamless and elegant.

    • To ensure a smooth session, please bring plenty of milk, diapers, and a pacifier (even if your baby doesn’t usually use one—it can be helpful to have just in case).

    • It’s best to time your arrival so your baby is ready to eat as soon as you get to the studio. Feeding them upon arrival often helps them settle and fall asleep.

    • Dress your baby in a zip-up pajama for easy outfit changes.

    • Plan to spend at least two hours at the studio. If older siblings are joining, consider arranging for someone to pick them up or take them out after their portion of the session. This allows you to relax while we focus on capturing beautiful images of your baby.

    • Ensure your baby is well-rested and fed before the session.

    • If they use a pacifier, bring it along, as well as plain-colored puffs for snacks just in case.

    • I’ll provide the cake unless your baby has allergies, in which case, you’ll need to bring your own.

    • Please bring all baby and family outfits with you to change into upon arrival.

    • One-Year Sessions typically last about an hour.

Styling Recommendations

Choose complimentary colors

If you plan to add an accent color (pastels, earth tones), a good place to start is to choose a color palette that has colors that compliment one another, rather than too many of the same or similar colors. You want to coordinate colors, not be matchy-matchy. If you are planning to do whites or creams as the base color, choose different shades & tones of white & cream - also use texture or layers to add dimension.

Go neutral

I highly recommend choosing outfits that follow a more neutral color palette. My style is known for being white, neutral and light-filled, so neutral colors are the perfect way to go. Neutral colors are also a great way to make sure your images are timeless and beautiful.

Limit patterns and big logos

This tip is especially crucial when choosing outfits, as busy patterns and big logos can be extremely distracting and if there are too many outfits with patterns in your group, it can clash. Incorporate mostly solids in your outfits, and include patterns only when the majority of outfits are solids, and when patterns are not as distracting. For example: a soft, small floral pattern is perfect, but big a big plaid pattern will overwhelm the eyes.

Think Comfort

My sessions are very relaxed and include a lot of movement which allows for candid and natural moments. Choose outfits that are comfortable and allow you to move around while feeling good in what you’re wearing.

Confidence is key

The most important factor in choosing your outfits is to wear something that you feel comfortable and confident in. You'll want to choose something that fits you well and makes you feel good about yourself!
